There was a fight between two parties for five rupees.
A shocking case has come to light from Davanagere district of Karnataka. In Honnabegi of Chennagiri taluka here, a fierce fight broke out between two families over Kurkure worth just Rs 5. 10 people have been injured in this incident of fighting between two parties. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Since this fight, more than 20 people have fled the village due to fear of arrest.
Kurkure had expired
Actually, the entire case of fight between Atif Ullah family of Honnbegi and Saddam family has come to light. Here Atif Ullah runs a grocery shop in the village. Last Thursday, Saddam’s child bought two packets of Kurkure worth Rs 5 each from his shop. When I went home I found out that the Kurkure had expired. By the time we realized this, the child had already eaten a packet of Kurkure. After this Saddam showed the packet to shopkeeper Atif. After this, the shopkeeper agreed to return Rs 5 of this packet, but asked to give an empty packet in lieu of paying the remaining Rs 5.
The matter escalated after abuse
Abuse started between the two regarding this matter. In anger, Atif waved his hand, after which Saddam’s family lodged a complaint at Chennagiri police station. Atif’s family got enraged at this and many people together attacked Saddam’s family. There was a huge clash between the two families. CCTV footage of the attack has also surfaced. More than 10 people have been injured in this entire incident of fighting. Everyone has been admitted for treatment at different places. In this case, more than 20 people have left the village due to fear of arrest. Police has been deployed in the village.
