Fierce fire in a tent company's warehouse in Prayagraj, two fire engines and five employees scorched

A fierce fire broke out in a tent company’s warehouse at Prayagraj’s parade ground on Saturday morning in which two fire engines and five employees were marginally injured due to scorching. An official gave this information.

The officer said that the incident took place at around 6.30 am. A person named Rahul, who works in the warehouse at the scene, said that this warehouse belongs to ‘Lallu Ji & Brothers’.

Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Dr. Rajeev Kumar Pandey said, “18 fire engines were taken in the fire extinguishing work, including four army vehicles.” He said that he himself, another officer and five employees, were scorched in a minor manner while extinguishing the fire. However, the quick action of the department has saved goods worth billions of rupees kept in many nearby godowns.

Pandey said that four LPG cylinders kept in the warehouse exploded and two scooty parked in the premises were gutted.

The fire officer said that 10 fire engines were convened from Handia, Meja and Soraon, in view of the fire, and the fire was controlled after about six hours of effort. He said that 20 employees of the warehouse were taken out safely and there is no loss of loss of life in this incident.

On receiving the information of the incident, District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Abhishek Bharti and other senior officials also reached the spot and coordinated for relief work.

Almost all the tents have built their warehouses on the black route of the parade ground for the Mahakumbh Mela and after the end of the fair, tents etc. have been taken out and kept in these warehouses.
