New Delhi. An FIR has been registered against Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi at Pan Bazar Police Station in Guwahati, Assam. The case has been registered regarding his recent statement, in which he had raised questions on the transparency of the electoral process and said that his fight is not only with the Bharatiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, but also with the “Indian State”. This statement was given by Rahul Gandhi on January 15 at the inauguration ceremony of the new headquarters of Congress on Kotla Road in Delhi. An FIR has been lodged on behalf of the complainant Monjeet Chetia, in which the case has been registered under sections 152 and 197(1)D of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Rahul Gandhi’s statement

At the inauguration ceremony of the Congress Party’s headquarters held in Delhi on January 15, Rahul Gandhi had said, “My fight is not only with BJP and RSS, but also with the Indian State.” There has been a stir in political circles regarding his statement.

BJP’s counterattack

BJP leaders have called this statement of Rahul Gandhi irresponsible and an attack on India’s institutions. He said that this statement is against national unity and may increase separatism in the country.

Congress’s clarification

At the same time, the Congress party has accused it of distorting it. Congress leaders say that Rahul Gandhi was talking about strengthening democracy and transparency, but his statement has been misinterpreted. This issue has become politically sensitive in Assam. Condemning the statement, the state government has said that any statement against national unity and integrity will not be acceptable.
