New Delhi. The Karnataka High Court on Monday rejected the plea of his wife Nikita Singhania to quash the FIR in the Atul Subhash suicide case. A bench headed by Justice SR Krishna Kumar rejected the petition considering the facts recorded in the FIR in this case as sufficient.

Justice SR Krishna Kumar questioned Nikita Singhania as to why she wanted to avoid getting the case investigated. The court also said that there are clear allegations of abetment to suicide in the FIR. In such a situation, it is necessary to take this matter forward for investigation.
Nikita Singhania’s lawyer’s argument
Nikita Singhania’s lawyer argued in the court that there is no fact related to incitement to suicide in the complaint in which the FIR was lodged. The lawyer also said that Atul Subhash, through his suicide note or any other means, did not make any allegation against Nikita Singhania or his family which could be related to suicide.

What instructions did the court give?
The court issued notice to the defendants in the case and directed them to lodge objections. The prosecution was also ordered to present the material collected during the investigation.

Meanwhile, a Bengaluru court granted bail to Nikita Singhania and his family on January 4, 2025. Atul Subhash’s family expressed dissatisfaction over this decision and said that they will appeal against this order in the High Court.
