“First take permission to go to the temple”, huge ruckus over the strange order of Barkatullah University of Bhopal, students performed kirtan in the campus.

New Delhi. A controversy has arisen in Barkatullah University regarding the ban on girl students from studying Sunderkand and visiting the temple. The girl students allege that on the orders of Chief Warden Ayesha Raees, they were stopped from reciting Sunderkand and going to the temple. Along with this, the girl students were also asked to write an apology letter, which has created a stir in the university. The girl students have raised their voice against the university administration on this issue.

Girl students made allegations of writing an apology letter

The girl students living in the hostel in the university say that the Chief Warden banned them from going to the temple and asked them to write an apology for this. After this case, there is resentment among the girl students, who consider this decision as a violation of their religious freedom.

Statement of Chief Warden Ayesha Raees

Amidst this controversy, the statement of Chief Warden Ayesha Raees has also come to light. Speaking to India TV, Ayesha Raees said, “This is not a religious issue, but a matter of discipline. The Vice Chancellor has constituted a committee on this, which will conduct a thorough investigation. The girl students are given the same love and protection as their parents, so that they can continue their studies without any hassle.”

ABVP protest

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) protested against the university administration over this controversy. ABVP students gathered at the main gate of the university and organized Ramdhun and appealed to the administration to reconsider the issue. ABVP president Diwakar Shukla condemned the incident, saying that preventing girl students from participating in religious activities was condemnable, and that their protest against it would continue.

Hindu organizations expressed displeasure

Resentment is also being seen in Hindu organizations on this issue. Members of the organization have warned that if appropriate action is not taken to stop girl students from religious activities, they will take to the streets and protest. The leaders of the organization say, “Any kind of ban on Sunderkand and religious events will not be tolerated in our country.”
