The aircraft of Thai Lion Air going to Bangkok was temporarily stopped at Kolkata Airport on the morning of 5 July, as there was a technical problem during taxing and had to return to the bay, but the flight operations started successfully on Sunday.
Flight Number TLM 242 from Bangkok’s Don Muung International Airport reached Kolkata at 01:23 am Indian time on 5 July, with 151 passengers. The aircraft, Boeing 737-800, was to fly as TLM 243 in return.
After getting approval for pushback from Stand 60R at 2:35 am Indian time, the aircraft reported technical fault and requested to return. It was re -parked at Stand 34 at 2:43 am Indian time. The outbound flight was then canceled and 130 passengers were taken off and held at the hotel.
Airport officials said that the upcoming flight of Qatar Airways was also delayed by 25 minutes due to the availability of stand on the apron of the aircraft.
After inspection and technical approval, the airline resumed its services the next day. A renovated flight called SL243D left for Bangkok with 96 passengers from Kolkata at 6:17 am on July 6.
Earlier on Saturday, Thai Lion, whose call sign was TLM 242, landed at Kolkata Airport at 0123 am from Don Muung International Airport in Bangkok, Thailand.
The aircraft with HSLGS registration took pushback from 60r at 0235 pm. After taking the pushback, it gave a technical report and requested to return to Bay. The call sign TLM 243 flight once again stood at the parking stand 34 at 0243 pm. All 130 passengers were sent to the hotel.
