The Central Water Commission (CWC), in its daily flood bulletin released on Friday, said that 20 river sites across the country are in danger of floods, out of which one and two places in Assam are facing a serious situation of floods.
The flood -based places are located on the banks of Bagmati and Gandak, respectively, locations located on the banks of the Brahmaputra and its tributaries in Golaghat, Assam and the Ganga tributaries in Muzaffarpur in Bihar and Gopalganj in Bihar.
The bulletin states that the water level at these places has crossed the danger mark.
Overall, the Central Water Commission has expressed concern over floods for 20 places, mainly included Assam, Bihar, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
The Brahmaputra and the Ganges river systems are mostly at high-risk places. However, no river has yet reached its all -time high levels of floods.
The Central Water Commission has described the flood situation at 17 places as unusual. In the last 24 hours, flood warnings were upheld at many places.
