Foreign Ministry gave statement regarding Bangladesh

Atrocities against Hindus continue in Bangladesh. Every day temples of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are being demolished and Hindus are being attacked. Meanwhile, after the arrest of ISKCON chief priest Chinmoy Krishna Das, there is resentment among the Hindu minorities towards the Bangladesh government. Meanwhile, the Indian Foreign Secretary is scheduled to visit Bangladesh on 9 December 2024 for consultations with the Foreign Office. Regarding the visit to Bangladesh, the Ministry of External Affairs said that this is part of our structured talks with the Bangladesh side.

Foreign Ministry’s statement on Syria and Bangladesh

On the issue of Bangladesh, the Foreign Ministry further said that we have talked about this issue earlier also. We would like to reiterate our expectation that the relevant legal processes ongoing in Bangladesh be carried out in a fair, equitable and transparent manner, ensuring full respect for the legal authorities of the individuals concerned. Regarding Syria, the Foreign Ministry said that we have paid attention to the recent increase in fighting in the northern part of Syria. We are monitoring the situation closely. There are about 90 thousand Indian citizens in Syria, out of which 14 are working in various UN organizations. Our mission remains in close contact with our citizens to ensure their safety and security.

Sheikh Hasina’s speeches banned in Bangladesh

Let us tell you that terrorism against Hindus is continuing after the overthrow of Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, a special court has banned the publication of speeches of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Sheikh Hasina was ousted after massive protests in the country in August. After resigning from the post of PM, he took refuge in India. The decision comes a day after Hasina delivered her first public speech in a virtual address to support her Awami League party in New York
