The Ministry of External Affairs further said that this visit will further strengthen India-Kuwait relations. It said India was keen to strengthen ties in a number of areas, including defense and trade. The ministry further said that PM Modi will visit on the invitation of Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. During this visit, PM Narendra Modi will discuss with the leaders of Kuwait. Will also talk to the people of the Indian community living there. Earlier, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had visited Kuwait in 1981.
Kuwait is one of India’s top trading partners

Kuwait is one of India’s top trading partners, with bilateral trade worth US$10.47 billion in fiscal year 2023-24. Kuwait is India’s sixth largest crude oil supplier, meeting three per cent of the country’s energy requirements. Emir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah visited India in July 2017 on a personal visit. Earlier in 2013, the Prime Minister of Kuwait had paid a high level visit to India.
