The Supreme Court has granted anticipatory bail to IAS Pooja Khedkar, former trainee of Maharashtra cadre, who has passed the Civil Services Examination by taking advantage of the quota through fake disabled certificate and OBC reservation. The apex court directed Pooja Khedkar to cooperate in the investigation. A bench of Justice BV Nagaratna and Justice Satish Chandra Sharma commented on Pooja Khedkar, saying which serious crime she has committed? He is not a drug mafia or a terrorist. The Supreme Court bench said that keeping in mind the facts and circumstances of the case, this is a suitable case where the petitioner should get bail from the Delhi High Court itself. Earlier, the Delhi Police counsel, while presenting the argument, opposed the anticipatory bail plea of Pooja Khedkar and said that she was not cooperating in the investigation. The allegations against him are also serious. On this, the bench said the above things. At the same time, the bench also said that Pooja Khedkar is not a criminal NDPS (law related to drug prohibition). You should have a system or software, you complete the investigation.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had extended her bail period till 21 May, stopping the arrest of Pooja Khedkar. The Supreme Court had reprimanded the Delhi Police for a slow investigation into the case during the last hearing. The court had said that it seems that no concrete thing has been revealed so far in the investigation, hence the matter is being delayed. With this, the apex court had directed to complete the investigation soon.
