Four Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security forces in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. A senior police officer gave this information on Sunday. He said that a head constable of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) also lost his life during the encounter.
The encounter started when a joint team of security personnel had gone to a forest in South Abujhmad on the border of Narayanpur and Dantewada districts on Saturday evening in an anti-Naxal operation, the official said.
He said that after the firing stopped late on Saturday night, bodies of four Naxalites and automatic weapons including AK-47 rifles and self-loading rifles (SLR) were recovered from the spot.
