Before the assembly elections to be held in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has given a big gift to the people of the state. He will provide electricity up to 125 units for free from August 1 to the domestic consumers of the state for free.
CM Nitish wrote on ‘X’, ‘We are providing electricity to everyone at affordable rates from the beginning. Now we have decided that from August 1, 2025 i.e. from the bill of July, all domestic consumers of the state will not have to pay any electricity for 125 units. This will benefit a total of 1 crore 67 lakh families in the state.
He wrote, ‘We have also decided that in the next three years, taking consent from all these domestic consumers will be given benefits by setting up a solar power plant on the roofs of their house or in the nearest public place. The state government will spend the entire cost to set up a solar power plant for those who will be very poor families under the cottage Jyoti Yojana. The government will also cooperate properly for the remaining.
In the end, CM Nitish wrote, ‘This will no longer spend up to 125 units of electricity to domestic consumers, as well as solar energy will be available in the state in the next three years according to an estimate of up to 10,000 MW.’
