As part of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, a unique Ganesh idol decorated with currency notes worth Rs 1.10 crore has been put on display at the Ambedkar Centre in Paloncha mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district.
This idol installed by the Kapu community is attracting a large number of devotees.
Organiser NP Naidu said that he has been installing the Ganesh idol at this place for the last 28 years and this year he has decorated it with notes worth Rs 1.10 crore.
“We have been installing the Ganesha idol here for the last 28 years. This year, we have decorated Lord Ganesha with currency notes worth Rs 1.10 crore. We are thrilled to see so many people coming here and receiving the blessings of Lord Ganesha,” Naidu told ANI.
A devotee named Krishna told ANI that he was mesmerized by the statue and had never seen anything like it before.
“I have never seen anything like this before. The Ganesha idol decorated with currency notes worth Rs 1.10 crore by the Kapu community is really unique. I don’t think anyone else in Telangana has done something like this. It (Ganesh idol) is mesmerising,” he said.
Another devotee expressed his happiness on seeing the idol of Lord Ganesha. He said, “Our whole family has come to see the decoration of Ganesha at Ambedkar Centre. We are very happy to see this decoration.”
The 10-day festival will continue till Ganesh Chaturthi Anant Chaturdashi. This festival is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi.
During Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the god of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles. Devotees in India and abroad celebrate the wisdom and intelligence of Lord Ganesha.
Houses and pandals are adorned with lavish decorations and the atmosphere is filled with prayers, music and festive songs. Lively processions and traditional rituals take place on the streets, people prepare delicious offerings and visit beautifully decorated pandals.
