The health status of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, who is undergoing treatment for stomach infection at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in the national capital, remains stable, the hospital president gave this information on Thursday.
Sonia Gandhi is under the supervision of the medical team at the hospital, which has launched a new diet plan under her care. According to the hospital chairman Dr. Ajay Swaroop, “Sonia Gandhi is having a positive impact. She is having a positive impact. Their health is stable and a special diet plan has been launched today for her care. They are being strictly monitored.”
An official statement issued by the hospital said that a team of doctors including Dr. S. Nandi and Dr. Amitabh Yadav is constantly monitoring their situation.
The Congress Parliamentary Party president’s discharge date has not been decided yet, the hospital has said that it will take a decision on the basis of their health status. Sonia Gandhi was admitted to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi on Sunday (June 15) due to stomach infection.
Dr. Swaroop said on 16 June, “Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi (15.06.2025, Sunday) was admitted to the Surgical Gastroenterology Department for a stomach related problem at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital at 9:00 pm. The condition is currently stable and doctors are keeping a strict monitoring on their health.”
Earlier on June 17, giving information about the health of the 78-year-old Congress leader, the chairman had said, “Mrs. Sonia Gandhi’s condition is stable and treatment is having a good effect on her. She is recovering from stomach infection. Their food is being strictly monitored and she is kept under supervision. She is not yet fixed for her holiday date as a precaution.”
According to Naresh Chauhan, Principal Advisor (Media) to the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, earlier on June 7, Congress leader went to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, where he was brought for regular health check -up due to some minor health problems.
