In the case of women industrialist suicide case, SIT has arrested the female officer of DSP Rank of CID. On 22 November last year, a female businessman named S Jeeva committed suicide. Kanalakshmi, who was posted as a female police officer and DSP in CID, was accused of abetting suicide.

Actually, S Jeeva’s name was bounced in the Karnataka Bhovi Development Scam. It was alleged that there was a scam in the board for the welfare of the Bhovi caste. S Jeeva had supplied furniture for the board and alleged that the board bought the furniture from them several times more and Jeeva paid commission to the board members.

Gave life by writing a suicide note of 11 pages

The investigation of the case was handed over to CID and S Jeeva was also questioned as one accused. Meanwhile, Dysp was accused of torturing Jeeva. Jeeva committed suicide by writing a 11 -page suicide note, claiming that he was being harassed on the pretext of questioning. In her suicide note, Jeeva accused the female police officer Kanakalakshmi that she was forced to take off clothes in front of everyone in the name of interrogation and also sought a bribe of lakhs of rupees from them.

An FIR was lodged against Kanalakshmi in the Jeeva Suicide case. In the investigation, the allegations against him were found correct after which he was arrested today.

What is the Bhovi Vikas Nigam scam?

Under the scheme of Bhovi Corporation, there were allegations of illegal transfer of more than Rs 10 crore by misusing public documents to provide loans of lakhs of rupees to entrepreneurs in 2021-22 financial year. In 2023, an FIR was lodged in Bangalore, Bangalore Rural and Kalburgi on the allegation that some officials of the corporation had stolen more than 200 files including accounting files, cash books, project files, bank checks to hide the case. Later, the Karnataka government ordered the CID to investigate the case.
