New Delhi. Former Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, who broke away from Congress and formed the Democratic Progressive Azad Party, will not campaign for his own party’s candidates in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. Actually, the reason behind this is his ill health. According to media reports, Azad was admitted to Delhi AIIMS for two days on August 25 due to chest pain. Although he is completely fine now, doctors have advised him to take rest. This is the reason why he will not be seen in the election campaign.
In this regard, Azad has also given a message to the candidates of his party. Expressing regret for not being able to campaign, Azad has asked the candidates to evaluate and take a decision. He says that the candidates should decide whether they can participate in the election process in my absence or not. If the candidates feel that my absence can affect the election campaign, then they can withdraw their nomination. However, Ghulam Nabi Azad’s inability to participate in the election campaign can definitely have an adverse effect somewhere.
Let us tell you that the Democratic Progressive Azad Party released the first list of 13 candidates in Srinagar on 25 August. After this, Ghulam Nabi Azad suddenly felt chest pain. Azad went straight from there to Delhi AIIMS and the doctors admitted him. After being admitted for two days, he has now been discharged after all the test reports came normal. It is worth noting that voting for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir is to be held in 3 phases. Voting will be held on September 18 for the first phase, September 25 for the second phase and October 1 for the third phase. After counting of votes, the results will be declared on October 4.
