'Go Sliple Silo': Indigo officials accused of caste remarks, airline refuses

Airline company IndiGo has been accused of caste abusive and serious allegations of discrimination at the workplace. An employee of the company has filed a police complaint against three senior officials.

The complaint was originally lodged as Zero FIR in Karnataka on 21 May, which has now been formally transferred to DLF-1 police station in Gurgaon.

The FIR includes criminal forces, criminal intimidation, normal intention work, intentional insults, threats to humiliate a member of the SC/ST community, and caste-based misconduct.

According to the complainant, in April, he was called for a meeting at IndiGo’s office in Emar Capital Tower-2, Sector 24, Gurgaon. Three senior officials were present in this meeting, who has been accused of making “insulting and caste comments in front of others”.

The FIR also states that the accused clearly commented, referring to the complainant’s caste – “You are not worth flying, go back and chappal silo” and “You are not even worth licking my shoes”. The complainant has described these comments as an attempt made in a deliberately made attempt to hurt his dignity and self -esteem.

However, the IndiGo airline has dismissed the allegations, saying that the company believes in inclusion and equality, and the allegations are being investigated.
