Tourists having fun in snowfall
A large number of tourists reach Himachal Pradesh during the winter season. Himachal police said on Tuesday that if tourists and local residents are found to be trying to walk or cross the frozen part of the Chandra river in Lahaul and Spiti districts, strict action will be taken against them. The police warned people that due to sudden snow breaking, they could also kill their lives due to falling into the river.
Tourists going to the frozen part of the river
Superintendent of Police Mayank Chaudhary said that a large number of tourists are coming to visit Lahaul and Spiti. It has come to the notice of the police that they are going to various places from Koksar to Tandi to take photos, selfies and videos in the frozen part of the river.
Threat to life of tourists
Police said in a post on Facebook that due to low temperature, the banks of the river have frozen. The water temperature is very low, but some tourists are still trying to go to the banks of the river between Koksar and Tandi. Despite several consultations issued by the district administration from time to time, many people are unnecessarily visiting the river banks. This can pose a serious threat to his life.
Avoid going near Chandra river
The police post of the police said that therefore tourists are urged to avoid doing so. Chaudhary has asked the common people to avoid going near the Chandra River between Koksar and Tandi unless there is special permission for thrilling activities or livelihood purposes.

He said, ‘Any person who violates this order, then under the provision of relevant sections of Himachal Pradesh Police Act, he will have to pay imprisonment of up to 8 days or a minimum fine of Rs 1,000 which can be increased to Rs 5,000.
