Rishikesh: During the Char Dham Yatra starting in April in Uttarakhand, offline registration of devotees will be done as well as offline registrations so that the pilgrims who do not use the Internet do not have to face any problem. Officials said that in a meeting organized under the chairmanship of Garhwal Mandal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey at the Travel Transit Camp campus here, the Yatra administration has decided to change the system of passenger registration this time, taking lessons from the previous mistakes.
40 percent registration will be offline
It was decided in the meeting that along with online registration of devotees, 40 percent offline registrations will also be done so that the devotees coming from the countryside can get rid of its mess. Last time, passengers had to face a lot of trouble only by the arrangement of online registration. Officials said that it was also decided in the meeting that special care will be taken of the travel order in the ‘slot’ given to passengers. According to him, for example, those traveling to the four Dham will be given ‘slots’ in the order of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. In the meeting, the Garhwal Division Commissioner clearly directed the Public Works Department that all the works on Chardham Yatra routes should be completed by April 15.
Cheetah police deployment every 10 km on the journey route
Officials said that after consulting the Inspector General of Police, Garhwal Mandal, Rajiv Swaroop present in the meeting, Pandey also decided to deploy the squad of Cheetah Police or ‘Hill Petrolling Unit’ every 10 km on the journey route. This squad will be active rapidly in the condition of jams and accidents on the route. The District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police of the districts coming on the journey route were present in the meeting.
Badrinath temple doors will open on 4 May
The Chardham Yatra will begin on April 30 this year with the opening of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham on the festival of Akshaya Tritiya. The doors of Badrinath Temple will open on May 4, while the opening date of Kedarnath Dham will be decided on the festival of Mahashivaratri. (With language inputs)
