Kuwait has resumed its new and better E‑visa portal in early 2025, which can now apply for some special professionals online visa living in Gulf countries (GCC) or take visa when reaching Kuwait.
Who can apply?
Those who have a residency permits of 6 months or more time of Gulf country (eg UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain), whose passport is valid, and those who are in profession like doctors, engineers, teachers, journalists, or manager are eligible for this. Citizens of some countries can get visas only through the Embassy of Kuwait.
Visa fee and deadline
The E‑visa fees are about 3 kwd (about ₹ 800). It is processed in 1 to 3 working days. This visa remains valid for 90 days and allows to stay in Kuwait for 30 days.
What are new features?
It was closed for some time to update the system at the end of 2024. Now this portal has reopened and the application process has become easier and online than before.

Some passengers can also get a visa while landing in Kuwait on the consent of the airline. Such as Emirates and Jazeera Airways are allowing some professionals to boarding, but Kuwait Airways may be a bit strict.

A shared visa named GCC Grand Tourist Visa can be launched by the end of 2025, allowing all 6 Gulf countries to travel by the same visa.
