New Delhi: There is good news for the assistant public pilot working in the railway. After a recent decision of the Ministry of Railways to increase security, now the Assistant Loco Pilot will not have to bear the burden of noting the time of each station between each station during the operation of the train. The Ministry of Railways had formed a committee to assess measures to reduce paperwork for Loco Pilot and Assistant Loco Pilot, which has accepted several recommendations. All zones have been advised to take necessary steps by sending a circular in this regard.
Limit writing work
The Ministry has upheld the current trend of not handing over any writing work to the loco pilot at the time of train operations. Also, it has limited the writing work of the assistant loco pilot (ALP), so that they can focus more on coordinating with train operations and loco pilots. According to the circular, the ALP will have to write the loco, train, crew details and orders related to speed restrictions before the departure of the train, the details of the fixed stop of the train over time in the case of passenger train. It states that once the train starts operating, the real -time (after the actual stagnation will be recorded and before the departure), will note the problems (including loco dosha) and the unusual stagnation in the ‘Crew Diary/Log Book’ (the train will be recorded).
Need to record time for fixed stagnation
In this regard, a senior loco pilot said, “Currently, ALP notes the time of passing the train from every station. However, after these recommendations are implemented, the ALP will only need to record the time for the fixed stop of the train, not to record the time of the stations where the train is not determined to stop. ”The ministry has released the circular as well as the format of the diary of the crew and the ‘log book’ of the crew, which has made it easier and easy to follow them for the train operations.
Loco Pilot Union welcomed the verdict
The circular of the ministry states, “The need for the entry of energy consumption in the CMS (crew management system) and the entry of ‘Reorganization Reading’ has been abolished by the crew. The crew will no longer have to note this. “It says,” Loco pilot will be released ‘crew diary’ and the duration of placing the crew diary will be one year, except for accidents, investigation, where it will be maintained until it is finalized. “Loco Pilot Union has welcomed the Ministry’s initiative. However, it has demanded that their other issues be resolved to increase security. ‘All India Loco Running Staff Association’ (AILRSA), Southern Railway President R Kumarason said, “The railway is working on increasing the speed of the train. Therefore, the crew will naturally require more attention to signal and safety issues. “He said,” We welcome the move to reduce accessories, but at the same time the railways should also pay attention to loco pilot problems such as weekly leave, two nights limited to two nights, so that security can improve. ” (Language)
