A horrific road accident took place in Hathras on Friday evening, in which a state transport bus and a Tata Magic (Chhota Hathi) loader collided head-on. The collision took place on the Agra-Aligarh highway, in which 17 people died on the spot and 16 people were seriously injured.
The dead include 7 men, 5 women and 5 children
Those who died in the accident included 7 men, 5 women and 5 children. Most of the deceased were residents of Agra district. All the people were travelling in a loader. The collision was so severe that the loader was shattered into pieces and a lot of effort had to be made to take out the passengers.
High speed and overtaking became the cause of the accident
At the time of the accident, the state transport bus was overtaking at a high speed, when it collided head-on with a loader coming from the front. The accident was so terrible that both the bus and the loader were badly damaged.
Prime Minister and Chief Minister expressed grief
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have expressed deep grief over this accident. The Chief Minister has announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.
Treatment of the injured continues in the hospital
The injured were immediately admitted to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. According to doctors, the condition of some is still critical.
