Let us tell you that currently the ban of Grape-2 was going on in Delhi. A few days ago, the Supreme Court had given relaxation in the ban of Grap-4 and ordered to implement the ban of Grap-2. However, during this time the court had suggested to include some additional measures related to Grape-3. The Supreme Court had directed the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to initiate GRP-3 if AQI crosses 350 and to implement GRP-4 restrictions without any delay if AQI crosses 400. . Following the directions of the Supreme Court, CAQM has implemented Grap-3 in case of poor air quality in Delhi.
The Supreme Court had sought suggestions from the CAQM before relaxing the Grape-4 restrictions. The apex court had asked whether it could be returned to GRP-3 or GRP-2. The Supreme Court had also strongly reprimanded the Punjab government regarding stubble burning. Hearing the air pollution case in Delhi, the Supreme Court on December 12 directed the Delhi government and other NCR states Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan to take a final decision on banning the use of firecrackers throughout the year.
