Three suspected terrorists, allegedly involved in a grenade attack on a police post in Punjab’s Gurdaspur, were killed in an encounter with a joint team of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab Police in Pilibhit on Monday.
Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav termed it a major success against the Pakistan-sponsored ‘Khalistan Zindabad Force’ module.
The culprits have been identified as Gurvinder (25), Virender Singh (23) and Jasan Preet Singh alias Pratap Singh (18), residents of Gurdaspur. The encounter took place in Puranpur police station area of Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh.
Additional Director General (Law and Order) of Uttar Pradesh Police, Amitabh Yash said that the three were involved in the grenade attack on a police post in Gurdaspur. He said, “All three were seriously injured by police firing during the encounter and were immediately taken to the Community Health Center in Puranpur.” ,
Amitabh Yash told PTI that all three died during treatment.
