BMW Group India has announced a personnel change at its top level, in which Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar has been appointed as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since 1 September 2025. Brar, Vikram will replace the waga, who is taking over as the Chief Executive Officer of BMW Group Australia and New Zealand.

Brar has a rich experience of more than thirty years in the Indian automotive industry, he has served in several senior management positions. Recently he served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing in Kia India. Earlier, Mr. Brar’s diverse experience included Maruti-Suzuki, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, General Motors, Nissan Motor and Great Wall Motor Company to lead the major functions of sales, marketing, customer experience, network development and corporate strategy in many brands. He has obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology in Punjab. He is an alumnus of the Senior Executive Leadership Program of Harvard Business School.
Vikram Pawah has been with the BMW Group since 2017 and has successfully led the company in India (2017-2018 and 2020-2025) as well as the company operating in Australia (2018-2020). In recent years, Mr. Pawah has focused the eye of BMW Group India to increase the market share through new opportunities and target groups and to take electric mobility, digitization, retail experience and customer focus to the next level.

BMW India is a 100% subsidiary of BMW Group and is headquartered in Gurugram (National Capital Region). BMW India started operations in 2007. Its wide range of activities includes a manufacturing plant in Chennai, a regional distribution center in Pune, a training center in Gurugram and the development of a dealer organization in major metropolitan centers of the country. The BMW Group Plant Chennai locally produces 10 car models.
