New Delhi. In Haryana, BJP currently seems to be destroying the results of all the exit polls. Counting of votes for Haryana Assembly Elections 2024 started from 8 am. The first postal ballots were counted and showed encouraging trends for the Congress. In the counting of postal ballots, Congress was ahead on 57 seats and BJP on 15 seats, but the situation started turning as soon as the counting of EVM votes started. By 10 am, Congress seemed to be in for a shock. By 10 am, the trends of all 90 assembly seats of Haryana were revealed. In this, BJP crossed the majority and reached 50 seats. Whereas, Congress, which was seen sweeping the BJP till morning, lost 33 seats.
According to the trends till 10 am, Aam Aadmi Party was not leading on even a single seat in Haryana. Dushyant Chautala’s JJP, which had won 10 seats last time, was also at zero. At the same time, 2 and 5 other candidates of INLD-BSP alliance were seen leading. Earlier, all the exit poll results had shown that BJP will lose the Haryana Assembly elections this time and Congress will form the government there with a huge majority. In the exit poll results, Congress was said to win 54 to 57 seats. At the same time, BJP was shown to be limited to 12 to 15 seats. However, there are still several rounds of counting of votes left and the situation will become clear by 1 pm.
BJP leader and Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini has been continuously claiming that the party will form the government in the state for the third consecutive time. In Haryana, in 2014, BJP had won majority on its own. Whereas, in 2019 it could win only 40 seats. This was 6 less than the majority number. After which BJP along with JJP formed the government in Haryana. Recently JJP had broken ties with BJP.
