BJP MPs from Haryana on Tuesday demanded the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal for his claim that the state (Haryana) was shedding ‘poison’ in the Yamuna river, the source of drinking water supply in Delhi.
All 10 MPs from Haryana said in a press conference here that this is a clear matter of Kejriwal’s ‘criminal conspiracy’ as they are trying to create fear among Delhiites.
BJP MPs challenged the Aam Aadmi Party government to check the quality of water to be released from Haryana before being supplied to the homes of Delhi.
BJP MP Dharambir Singh said, “Former Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal has been making such statements for some time, which is hurting the sentiments of the people of Haryana. They are accusing us of mixing poison in the water being released from our state.
He said, “We also have water problems, even then we give Delhi more than 10,000 cusecs of water. Even then, we send water to Delhi, because it is the national capital. ”
BJP MP Kiran Chaudhary said, “I am surprised that Kejriwal said that we are doing water terrorism. It is unfortunate that a Chief Minister is making such statements. Anyone can check the quality of water coming from Haryana, but after Wazirabad, they mix garbage and pollutants in the water. We also see white foam on Yamuna water. ,
He said, “Yamuna has 37 treatment plants, but only 17 of them are operational. Whose responsibility is it? ”
Former Chairman of National Commission for Women and BJP MP Rekha Sharma accused Kejriwal of spreading lies before the Delhi assembly elections on February 5.
He said, “Whenever elections come closer, Kejriwal starts spreading lies. They have felt that their government will not be formed, so they have started making allegations. He has fallen so much that now he has come down on the gimmick. ”
He claimed that the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has said that the water is added to the water after Wazirabad, causing poisonous water to enter Delhi.
DJB comes under AAP government.
Sharma said, “He (Kejriwal) should apologize to the people of Delhi and Haryana.” The Haryana government is considering taking legal action against them for such baseless allegations. ”
BJP MP Ramchandra Jangra accused Kejriwal of attacking the federal structure from such allegations, saying, “If the water sent from Haryana is free from toxins to the permissible extent, then Kejriwal was arrested for making false allegations and conspiracy Should be done. ”
Earlier in the day, Kejriwal said that he is not afraid of legal action. He said that he will not let people die in Delhi due to ‘dirty, poisonous water’.
Kejriwal claimed in the press conference that the Chief Executive Officer of the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) confirmed in a letter on Monday that a ‘poison’ called ammonia has been added to the water coming from the neighboring state.
Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini denied Kejriwal’s charge and threatened to file a defamation suit for not apologizing.
On this, Kejriwal called him not to do politics on this issue and said, “This is a sin.” You will be cursed by people. ”
He said, “They are threatening to register a case against me. They sent me to jail, will they hang me? ”
