Union Health Minister JP Nadda told Parliament on Friday that till March 26, all the states and union territories of the country, except West Bengal, have been included in the Ayushman India Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).
Nadda said that more than 8.9 crore patients were admitted to the hospital from the beginning of Ayushmann India-Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana from March 1, 2025.
In a written reply to a question, Nadda told the Lok Sabha that till March 20, 10.21 lakh, 14.47 lakh and 14.76 lakh Ayushman cards have been made for the beneficiaries of the Social Health Workers (ASHA), Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi workers (AWH) recognized under the scheme till 20 March.
He said that by March 1, 2025, 30,957 hospitals including 13,866 private and 17,091 public hospitals have been listed under the scheme.
Nadda said that till March 1, more than 2.21 crore patients were admitted to hospitals under AB-PMJAY for FY 2024-25.
He said that under AB-PMJAY, the eligibility criteria for beneficiary families were initially identified by the Socio-Economic Caste Publicity (SECC) of 2011 on the basis of various criteria in rural and urban areas. In addition, in January 2022, based on the decaded growth rate of 11.7 percent, the Government of India revised the beneficiary base to 12 crore families.
