Heavy rain alert in 11 states
New Delhi: Monsoon is gradually moving towards its withdrawal in many states of the country. Due to this, heat has increased in some states including Delhi-Rajasthan. The highest maximum temperature of 43.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Pokhran, Rajasthan. There is no possibility of rainfall in Northwest, West and Central India during the next one week. At the same time, it is raining heavily in the northeastern states.
There will be heavy rain here during the next 24 hours
According to the Meteorological Department, today and tomorrow there may be torrential rains in Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Kerala and Mahe during the next 7 days. A warning of heavy rain with strong winds has been issued in Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Rayalaseema till October 8.
Heat increased due to increase in temperature in Delhi
The maximum temperature in the national capital Delhi on Thursday was recorded at 37 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal. According to the IMD, the sky remained clear during the day while the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.6 degrees Celsius, four degrees above normal. The Meteorological Department has predicted clear skies on Friday. The maximum temperature is likely to be recorded at 36.0 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be recorded at 25 degrees Celsius.
Chance of rain during Durga Puja in West Bengal
The Meteorological Department has issued a rain warning during the Durga Puja festival in West Bengal. Eastern Region Meteorological Department head Somnath Dutta said light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected during the festival. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain and thundershowers in all the districts in South Bengal on October 5. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers may occur at isolated places in all districts from October 6 to October 9.
IMD said rains are expected to continue over various districts, especially Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar and Alipurduar from October 7 to October 9. From October 10 to 13, partly cloudy sky and light rain and thundershowers may continue in some areas.
