Heated debate between Jagdeep Dhankhar and Mallikarjun Kharge
New Delhi: There was a huge uproar in the House on Friday over the notice of no-confidence motion against Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. There was a heated exchange between House Chairman Dhankhar and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge. Jagdeep Dhankhar said that I am a farmer’s son. I don’t bow down to anyone. I tolerated a lot. I respected everyone. He told Kharge that I appeal to you to come and meet us in my chamber.
Responding to the Congress, the Chairman said that you people are pained as to how a farmer’s son is sitting on this chair. I will sacrifice my life for the country, but will not bow down. I have never failed in giving respect to any member. If the opposition cannot come to me then we can go to them.
Kharge replied to Dhankhar
Responding to Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjan Kharge said that you have flouted the Constitution. We did not come here to praise you. You run the House according to the rules. Kharge told Dhankhar that if you are the son of a farmer then we are the sons of labourers. Kharne said that if you insulted us then how can we respect you.
Mallikarjun Kharge said that you flout the Constitution. You insulted me, how can I respect you? You insult opposition MPs. We have not come to listen to your praise.
