In Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, there was a shootout at the house of former MLA and Congress leader Bambar Thakur on the day of Holi. The atmosphere is hot due to firing bullets at Bambar Thakur’s house. The Congress leader is shot in the leg, his PSO is also injured. Both have been sent to the hospital for treatment. Bilaspur SP Sandeep Dhawan said that former MLA Bambar Thakur and two people were injured in the alleged firing in Bilaspur. PSO Sanjay has been referred to AIIMS and former MLA IGMC Bilaspur.
Bambar Thakur has an old relationship with controversies. However, people firing on them have not been identified. The bullet on the Congress leader was fired when he was playing Holi with supporters in the government residence found to his wife. It is being told that he was fired 10-12 rounds. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
There have been attacks before
This is not the first time Bambar Thakur has been attacked with a fatal attack. Earlier, he was attacked in February 2024. 11 people were accused in this case. After this, the main accused was attacked in the court premises. Others including Bambar Thakur were made accused in this attack. Bambar Thakur had said that an attempt is being made to attack him. Now he has been attacked once again.
Forbidden to go to government hospital
It is being told that when firing started while celebrating Holi, Bambar Thakur saved his life by hiding behind the car. His PSO took two bullets on his body to save him. PSO’s condition is critical, he has been admitted to AIIMS. At the same time, Bambar Thakur refused to go to AIIMS or PGI. Because of this, he has been referred to IGMC Shimla.
