BSF caught minor girl in North Dinajpur
On Tuesday night, the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) caught a minor girl from Bangladesh in Fatehpur BOP area of Chopra block of North Dinajpur district of West Bengal. The girl is from Panchagarh district of Bangladesh and is a member of a Hindu family associated with ISKCON.
ISKCON families are receiving threats
The girl’s maternal grandfather told that Hindu families associated with ISKCON were receiving continuous threats in Bangladesh. These threats were specifically about kidnapping of girls. He also alleged that rape, murder and other heinous crimes are being committed against Hindu families in Bangladesh. According to Nana, the situation there has deteriorated so much that Hindu families are feeling unsafe.
Trying to visit relatives in India
The minor girl was trying to cross the border to go to her relative’s house in Belakoba, Jalpaiguri. BSF caught him and interrogated him and informed the police about the matter. The police contacted the girl’s relatives living in Belakoba.
Girl sent under the care of Child Welfare Association
After completing the legal process, the police made arrangements to send the minor girl to a safe home through the District Child Welfare Association. Special steps are being taken to ensure the safety of the girl.
