The Kolkata unit of ISKCON on Saturday condemned the ‘murder’ of a Hindu priest by extremists at the cremation ground temple in Natore, Bangladesh. ‘Even crematorium is not safe in Bangladesh’
Over the crematorium temple incident, ISKCON accused the interim government of Bangladesh of failing to protect religious minorities. Since the fall of Sheikh Hasina government, the country’s minority community is facing ‘continuous torture. ISKCON Kolkata spokesperson Radharaman Das posted a video on ‘X’ and said, ‘Shocked to hear about the attack on the temple located at Kashimpur Central Crematorium in Natore, Bangladesh. Valuables were looted and temple servant Tarun Chandra Das was brutally murdered. His hands and legs were found tied. Even Hindu crematoriums are not safe.
‘The priest was tortured before killing’
Let us tell you that the dead body of priest Tarun Chandra Das is visible in a viral video. In the video, the priest’s hands and legs are seen tied, although news agency ‘PTI-Bhasha’ could not independently confirm the authenticity of the video. According to Radharaman Das, the priest was probably tortured before he was killed, because his hands and legs were tied. ISKCON Kolkata spokesperson said, ‘The miscreants also looted the temple.’ Radharaman Das said that Bangladesh Police has described the incident as a case of robbery. However, it has come to light that in many cases the police is openly supporting the radicals.
