Pradeep Majhi, former MP and BJD leader from Nabrangpur in Odisha
Nabrangpur: Former MP and BJD leader from Nabrangpur in Odisha, Pradeep Majhi has been ostracized by his community for 12 years due to his inter -cast marriage. The decision was taken by the Central Committee of All India Tribal Bhatra Samaj on Friday. According to this decision, the people of the community will not attend any social event organized by Pradeep Majhi and his family. It includes programs like wedding, birthdays, worship, even funeral.
Reason revealed
Ram Bhatra, an official of the society, said, ‘Pradeep Majhi married in Goa, and we got information about this from media reports. Today it has been decided to exclude them in the meeting of Bhatra community. Gopal Pujari, vice -president of the society, said, ‘This has already happened in Pradeep Majhi’s family. His father Bhagwan Majhi, his brother and he himself have been involved in such works. Earlier, Pradeep Majhi also married his sister Sanju Majhi to a Brahmin youth.
Former MP Pradeep Majhi married Ms. Sangeeta Sahu of Kendrapara district on 12 March. Earlier, he got his sister married to a Brahmin youth, which the community considered a violation of the tradition. The community has taken this strict action against them due to continuous rules. The community says that Majhi is repeatedly breaking the traditions, causing the culture and traditions of the society to be in danger. For this reason, he has been separated from society for 12 years.
The matter is being discussed everywhere. When an MP got this punishment for marrying a girl of his will, it is still a big challenge for the common man to get married in small cities.
