Aligarh. The administration of Aligarh Muslim University, a minority education institution based in UP, has withdrawn its decision to stop celebrating Holi. AMU has said that now students are allowed to play Holi. The AMU administration has said that on March 13 and 14, students can play Holi at NRSC Club. Earlier, the AMU administration had banned playing Holi. Some students sought approval from the AMU administration to play Holi, which was refused to accept. Due to which the dispute arose. Now after the latest decision of AMU administration, Hindu students of the university will be able to play Holi.

The AMU administration had earlier said that no new tradition will be allowed in Aligarh Muslim University. Till now there has not been approval to play Holi in AMU. Questions have been raised before the AMU administration has not given permission to play Holi. This time when the students’ application of Holi Milan celebrations was rejected earlier, the AMU administration was again under question. Hindu students had alleged that the AMU administration was discriminating against them. Hindu students demanded that the AMU administration should respect all religions.
BJP MP Satish Gautam had warned that those who assaulted Holi would be taken up. This further increased the dispute.
