Home Minister Amit Shah attacked Congress, said "Modi government gave Kerala more money than previous Congress governments"

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday accused both of them of corruption while targeting the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and opposition Congress -led Joint Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala. Rejecting the allegations of step behavior of the Center for the state, he said that the Modi government has allocated more funds to Kerala than the previous UPA government.

He said, “The track record of LDF and UDF has been from the corrupt government.

Shah said at a BJP program in Thiruvananthapuram, “LDF has done explosive scam, cooperative bank scam, AI camera scam, life mission scam, PPE kit scam and India’s largest state sponsored gold smuggling scam.”

Shah said that he will release the details of the central amount allocated to Kerala later today. Shah said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi government has released many times more funds for Kerala than the amount released by the Congress government. I will publicly release every detail about it through the BJP headquarters today.”

Shah said, “The Prime Minister Narendra Modi government has released many times more funds for Kerala than the amount released by the Congress government. I will publicly release every detail about it through the BJP headquarters today.”

He said that Prime Minister Modi has three basic approaches for the development of Kerala – no discrimination in corruption -free governance, government schemes and the development of Kerala beyond political benefits.

He said, “There are both BJP and CPI (M) cadre -based parties, but there is a big difference between the two. Kerala is greater than the development of the welfare state, while the BJP has a Kerala developed above the cadre.” He claimed that the BJP puts the welfare of the people above the narrow political interests.

Shah also claimed that “no one can answer terrorism except Prime Minister Modi and BJP.” He said, “India will be free from Naxalism by 31 March 2026 … No one can answer terrorism other than Prime Minister Modi and BJP …

He started his speech, apologizing that he could not talk in beautiful Malayalam. He also remembered the eighth century Vedic scholar and philosopher Adi Shankaracharya. He said, “Kerala is the land of Shankaracharya, who explained the Vedas, Brahma Sutras and other philosophical texts. I bow before his great soul.”

Earlier, he inaugurated the newly constructed state-of-the-art BJP office in Thiruvananthapuram. On Sham, Union Minister will visit Kannur, where he will offer prayers at the famous Sri Rajarajeshwar Temple in Talipramba. This visit of the temple is considered part of the BJP’s continuous efforts to connect with the cultural and spiritual fabric of Kerala.

The visit is taking place at a time when political activities in Kerala have intensified and assembly elections are likely to be held next year and the party is trying to fill energy in its workers.

The next election of Kerala Legislative Assembly is expected to be held in May 2026. This election will be held to choose 140 MLAs for the 15th Kerala Legislative Assembly. The current term of the Government of Kerala is from May 24, 2021 to May 23, 2026.
