Seven people were killed and 14 others were injured in a collision between a truck and sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh late on Sunday night.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Gayatri Tiwari said that the incident took place at around 2.30 pm near Upani Petrol Pump on Sidhi-Bahri Road. He said that the SUV was going towards Maihar while the truck was going from Sidhi towards Bahri, when both vehicles collided face to face.
The official said that seven people aboard the SUV died and 14 others were injured in the accident. He said that nine injured have been referred to Rewa for treatment and others are being treated directly in the district hospital.
The official said that the truck driver has been taken into custody and the investigation is on.
