DIG Mahakumbh Vaibhav Krishna has ordered the horsemen police personnel to vacate the Triveni Sangam Ghat.
Earlier, a team of bomb disposal squad regularly investigated the area with the investigative dog to ensure the safety of all the devotees amidst the huge crowd in the Mahakumbh region on Mauni Amavasya.
Speaking to ANI, Krishna addressed the ongoing crowd control measures at Triveni Sangam during Mahakumbh 2025, which is expected to arrive for more than 10 crore people for holy bath today.
Vaibhav Krishna said, “We expect more than 10 million people to come today. All our officers and employees are deployed to control the crowd since yesterday. People are bathing peacefully at all the ghats here.” He acknowledged the pressure of the huge crowd in the morning, but said that many akhadas have agreed to delay their bathing, which would help the authorities manage the crowd more effectively.
He said, “Many akhadas asked us to control the crowd and said that they will go out for a bath later. Now since the crowd is under control, our preparations for the akhadas and saints are completed. The Akhara Marg and Akhara Ghat Are ready. “
The DIG confirmed that the entire area has been cleaned and informed to the akharas, who will start their bath soon.
Regarding the stampede, he said, “We do not have the official number of stampede victims as we were engaged in crowds. The injured are being treated.”
Meanwhile, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, president of the Parmarth Niketan Ashram, said on Wednesday that prayers were prayed for those injured in a recent stampede at the Mahakumbh Mela. He also informed that he has canceled all his programs and is going to Sangam to meet people and the victims.
