If you are an Indian citizen (NRI) living in Dubai and your Indian passport is written an old or wrong address, then you can update it. A new passport is issued for this.
Where to go
You have to visit BLS International Services UAE (the official center of the Indian Consulate). For this, first online appointment will have to be booked.
Documents required to get passport updates
Fresh (not older than 3 months) electricity, water, phone or gas bill (in English).
Voter ID, Aadhaar card or e-edge (original).
Native Certificate – Certified or online verification from the state government.
Bank Passbook (Active Account)-Copy of original and one year transactions.
Process:
Fill the passport application form (to change the address).
Give your original passport and copy.
Put new passport size photos (as per rule).
The valid UAE Residence should be a visa.
For whatever change is required, give documents and a written request letter.
If you want to change the address of the spouse or parents:
If you live in UAE, then the affidavit of NOC (No Objection Certificate).
If living in India, then notaryized NOC from India.
The address of minor children will be updated only on the basis of passports of parents.
It is important to come to the applicant himself.
UAE address option:
If India does not have a permanent house, you can also get UAE address in passports from 2020. For this, a register of rent will have to be given contract or the title deed and other assistant documents of your property.
Fees:
The fees for changing the address to passport recycling are about 285 dirhams. (Services like lounge, courier may be charged separately.)
