Information about Indian people in Israel came to light.
West Asia is currently going through a period of war. On one side there are Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthi and Iran, while on the other side Israel is taking on all of them alone. Amidst the war, on Friday, the External Affairs Ministry delegation led by India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri submitted complete information to the parliamentary committee. The delegation of the Ministry of External Affairs has also informed the parliamentary committee about the war in Western Asia as well as the agreement between India and China and the India-Canada diplomatic dispute.
How many Indians are there in Israel?
The Foreign Ministry delegation has told the parliamentary committee that at present there are estimated to be around 30 thousand Indian people in Israel. Under the agreement between India and Israel, about 9,000 construction sector workers and 700 agricultural workers have gone there. The delegation also informed the Committee about its efforts to help Indian citizens present in Israel. Also reiterated PM Modi’s stand that India wants the crisis to be resolved through dialogue.
Agreement with China and tension with Canada also discussed
According to the information, in the parliamentary committee meeting, the members also raised the issue of the agreement between India and China to resolve the border crisis in Eastern Ladakh. Along with this, bitterness in India-Canada relations was also discussed. In the meeting the officials responded on both the issues. The Ministry of External Affairs has said that the agreement between India and China will restore the situation before the border crisis in 2020.
Shashi Tharoor was presiding
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor was presiding over the meeting of the Parliament Standing Committee. After the completion of the meeting, Shashi Tharoor said that it was a meaningful meeting. India’s stance on Israel and Palestine has also been discussed in detail. Tharoor has thanked Foreign Secretary Misri for this. (input language)
