The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has released photos taken by the earthquake in Myanmar on 28 March by its ‘Cartosat-3’.
ISRO said that he obtained pictures taken by ‘Cartosat-3’ on March 29 after the disaster, the mandley of Myanma and above the cities.
The space agency said that in addition to this, the pre-disaster data obtained from ‘Cartosat-3’ covering the same area on March 18 has been sent to analyze and assess the loss.
The ‘Cartosat-3’ satellite is a third-generation skilled advanced satellite with a camera with high ‘resolution’, capable of taking better photos.
ISRO said in a statement, “Pictures show that the infrastructure in Mandley has suffered a lot of damage, with ‘Sky Villa’, Fayani Pagoda (Temple), Mahamuni Pagoda and Anand Pagoda, Mandle University and many other major sites were completely damaged either either or partially or partially. In the city of Sagiing, Ma Shi Khana Pagoda as well as many monasteries and other buildings have been damaged.
According to ISRO, photographs show that the historic Ava (Inva) bridge over the Iravati river near these or city collapsed completely due to the earthquake. Cracks, land bursting and other similar incidents were also seen in the flood potential area of the Iravati river.
The space agency mentioned in the statement that on March 28, Myanmar had an 7.7 magnitude earthquake and then a 6.4 magnitude earthquake occurred after a powerful shock. The earthquake was at a depth of 10 km in the ground near the Sagiing-Mandala border.
ISRO said that the earthquake was located near Mandalay, the second largest city in Myanmar, where there was heavy loss. The earthquake also shook the capital Nipita and other areas, causing infrastructure, roads and residential buildings to be badly damaged.
ISRO said, “Earthquake tremors were felt not only in Myanmar but also in neighboring countries. The tremors of the earthquake were so powerful that Chiang Mai and the northern parts of Thailand were felt, where the residents reported the damage. ‘
