Meteorological Department gave information about monsoon rains.
New Delhi: People are suffering due to scorching heat across the country. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has made a big announcement on rain. The Meteorological Department has predicted more rainfall than normal in the monsoon this time. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has also refused to create the situation of El Nino. In such a situation, it is being speculated that this time there will be good rainfall during the monsoon in the country. However, the Meteorological Department has also expressed concern about climate change, under which the number of rain days is decreasing while the incidents of heavy rains are increasing.
Excess rainfall forecast
Actually, the Meteorological Department has given important monsoon related information on Tuesday. IMD has predicted more than normal rainfall in India during this monsoon. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has also denied the possibility of El Nino’s situation during the monsoon. Mrityunjay Mahapatra, the head of the meteorological department, has informed about this during a conversation with reporters. He said, “India is expected to receive more than normal rainfall during the monsoon season of four months (June to September) and the total rainfall is estimated to be 105 percent of the long -term average of 87 cm.”
El Nino’s condition denied
Apart from this, the IMD chief said that it is unlikely to be like El Nino during the monsoon in the Indian subcontinent. Let us know that this time the forecast of more rain than normal during the monsoon is a big relief for the country. However, the possibility of more rain than normal does not mean that there will be more rain than normal in the whole country. During the last several years, due to climate change, there are floods and drought -like conditions in the country. This happens because the number of rain days is decreasing, while the incidents of heavy rains are increasing. (Input-PTI)
