ICC (International Cricket Council) chairman Jai Shah visited the BAPS Hindu Temple at Abu Dhabi. This is the first handmade traditional sandstone temple in the region. Shah under the guidance of BAPS Hindu Temple Abu Dhabi’s chief Pujya Brahmavihari Swami visited the complex architecture and calm atmosphere of the temple.
Shah, who arrived with Sanjog Gupta, CEO, ICC, closely understood the importance of the temple, craftsmanship and its spiritual center for the community. Shah said, “This temple is not only historical and prestigious, but it is the soul of harmony,” and emphasized the importance of religious co-existence and social unity. He expressed consideration on the deep importance of the temple, saying, “This is the message that our world needs more than before.”
A statement issued by the temple stated that Shah and Gupta were “overwhelmed” in the amazing architecture, closely and spiritual peace of the temple. “Impressed by deeply influenced by the harmony and devotion to the temple, he described it as a symbol of unity and immortal humanity. It was a confluence of leadership and heritage that inspires leaders and followers around the world.”
The tour underlines the fact that Abu Dhabi is becoming a center of cultural and religious diversity. Shah’s visit also shows that the ICC leadership is committed to the association with communities beyond the playground.
