Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asked the Chief Ministers of all states to identify Pakistani citizens in their state and send them back. According to sources, Home Minister Shah spoke all the Chief Ministers on Friday and asked them to identify all Pakistani citizens in their respective states. Along with this, he also asked to ensure that all Pakistani citizens should be sent back to their country.

It has been decided to cancel all types of visas of Pakistani citizens with immediate effect after Pakistan -sponsored terrorist attacks in Pahalgam. Shah has also asked the Chief Ministers to take steps to ensure the return of people to Pakistan.

Meeting on Indus Water Agreement

The Union Home Minister will also hold a meeting at his residence regarding the Indus Water Treaty. Apart from Home Minister and Union Water Minister CR Patil, other senior government officials will attend this meeting. According to sources, India has formally informed Pakistan about the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty. India has issued notice for change in the treaty. The letter said that the Government of India has given notice to the Government of Pakistan to amend the treaty. The notice mentions that many fundamental aspects of the treaty have changed and require reconsideration on them.

What did India say to Pakistan?

India in its letter said that various factors related to change in population, development of clean energy and water distribution have changed in the treaty. It has been said from India that any treaty should be applied well, but Pakistan is promoting terrorism across the border in Jammu and Kashmir. The letter said that India has sent a notice to the Government of Pakistan demanding amendment in the 1960 Indus Water Treaty (Treaty) under Article XII (3) of the treaty. The letter stated that after the execution of the treaty requires re -evaluation of obligations under various articles of the treaty due to fundamental changes in circumstances. ”

Decision taken after Pahalgam attack

The letter states, “These changes include significant changes in population, need to accelerate clean energy development and other changes in water sharing under the treaty.” The Government of India has taken this important step after a cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The move is taken after an attack on tourists at Basaron Maidan in Pahalgam on 22 April, killing 26 people.
