Asaduddin Owaisi
e Delhi: During the discussion on the Constitution in the Lok Sabha, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi questioned the intention of surveying and demolishing religious structures. Owaisi said, if I excavate the Parliament and find something, will this place become mine? Let us tell you that Owaisi was speaking in the debate organized in the Lok Sabha to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Indian Constitution.
Mention of Article 25 and its provisions
Referring to Article 25 and its provisions, Owaisi talked about digging up the Parliament. Owaisi said, ‘I am being asked whether your mosque was there for 500 years or not? It is also being said about the Dargah of Khwaja Ajmer that it does not exist… If I dig in this Parliament and find something, will it become mine? Let us tell you that two days ago, the Supreme Court had said on the petition filed regarding the Places of Worship Act that no religious place will be surveyed until the hearing on these petitions is over.
Allegation of snatching Waqf properties
Owaisi also accused the central government of snatching Waqf properties. Owaisi said that the Prime Minister says that Waqf is not related to the Constitution. Read article 26. You want to snatch it on the basis of your power.
BJP is destroying Urdu language
Owaisi said that BJP is trying to promote Hindutva culture by eliminating Urdu language in the country. He said that the language in which our freedom fighters had given the slogan of Inquilab Zindabad has been abolished.
Hindutva cultural nationalism
If you ask them (BJP) about culture, they will say that this is our cultural nationalism. Owaisi said that in fact this is not the cultural nationalism of BJP but the cultural nationalism of Hindutva which has no relation with the nationalism of India. He said that efforts are being made to snatch Waqf property. Muslims are not able to win elections. Muslim daughters are being prevented from wearing hijab. Mosques are now in danger and cow protectors are killing.
Let us tell you that recently Owaisi had fiercely targeted BJP regarding the survey of Sambhal Masjid. Owaisi said that if the right to enter was requested in the petition filed regarding the Mughal era mosque in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, then why did the court there order the survey? Owaisi said that in a country which is facing inflation, unemployment, farmer suicides and other issues, issues like this (in the context of the mosque) weaken the country.
