New Delhi. The Supreme Court has expressed deep displeasure over the statement of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Revanth Reddy had criticized the Supreme Court for granting bail to BRS leader K Kavitha. On this, the Supreme Court reacted strongly and said that should a person holding a constitutional post make such a statement? The Supreme Court said that there should be mutual respect for institutions and how can anyone say that we pass orders for political reasons. Supreme Court Justice BR Gavai said, “If you do not respect the Supreme Court, then the trial will be sent somewhere else. It is the biggest court in the country.” Justice Gavai further said that such statements by a Chief Minister raise questions on the judicial system and this can become the basis for case transfer.
Supreme Court reprimanded
On Revanth Reddy’s statement, the Supreme Court said, “We have nothing to do with anyone’s criticism. We perform our duty according to our conscience and oath.” The court also clarified that they are not closing the matter of case transfer right now. Justice Gavai said, “We always say that we are not interfering in the jurisdiction of the legislature and the same is expected from them.”

Consideration of case transfer
The Supreme Court also said that the trial going on against the Chief Minister of Telangana will be considered to be sent out of the state. However, the court also said that the court is not yet agreeing to transfer the trial out of Telangana, but it can be reconsidered in view of Revanth Reddy’s statement. After Revanth Reddy’s statement, the Supreme Court has given a clear message that everyone should respect the country’s highest court and persons holding constitutional posts should exercise restraint in their statements.
