New Delhi. Delhi Police, which is investigating illegal infiltrators on the orders of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, has achieved great success. According to media reports, Delhi Police has identified 175 illegal Bangladeshi citizens in the capital. These Bangladeshi citizens, who have made Outer Delhi their home, do not even have valid documents to reside in India. Delhi Police is going to take legal action against all these. All illegal Bangladeshis can be arrested and sent to jail. Delhi Police is visiting all the settlements in the capital in search of illegal infiltrators and checking the documents etc. of the people living there. Till now Delhi Police has found a total of 9000 suspects.
According to the information, illegal infiltrators could not present any of their documents. Many of them said that they were natives of other states. Now Delhi Police is collecting information from the states of those making such claims. Action will be taken only after this. Till that time, those who are under suspicion will be kept under surveillance. Delhi Police has so far sent 6 Bangladeshi citizens to their country. After the order from the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi to detect illegal infiltrators, MCD had ordered all the government schools to check the documents of the students. So that the children of Bangladeshi citizens who have infiltrated illegally can be identified. MCD has also sought a report from the Public Health Department by 31 December 2024 regarding the action taken report regarding ensuring that birth certificates are given to the children of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators.
Let us tell you that Ajay Raj Sharma, who was the Commissioner of Delhi Police, had formed a separate Bangladeshi cell in the year 2003. This cell still works. The job of this cell of Delhi Police was to find out and arrest illegal Bangladeshi citizens in the capital. The police department has set up Bangladeshi cells in every district of Delhi. Working jointly with FRRO, this cell has been keeping an eye on Bangladeshi nationals.
