Cyclone Fengal is expected to reach Tamil Nadu coast on Saturday evening. Waterlogging at many places in Chennai
Poonamallee High Road (EVR Periyar Salai) near Egmore area of Chennai was waterlogged following heavy rains due to the intensification of Cyclone Fengal. Along with this, waterlogging was also seen in Chromepet area of Chennai on Saturday. During this, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin also inspected the affected places after Cyclone Fengal reached the state.

According to IMD, due to Cyclone Fengal, there is a possibility of thunderstorm and lightning at one or two places in South Coastal and Rayalaseema. Heavy rain is expected at one or two places in Prakasam, SPSR-Nellore, YSR Cuddapah, Annamayya, Tirupati and Chittoor districts on Sunday. Stormy winds with a speed of 50 kilometers per hour may occur in southern coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema.
Will move forward in west direction between Mahabalipuram and Karaikal
Issuing the warning of Cyclonic Storm Fangal, KVS Srinivas, MD, Visakhapatnam Meteorological Center, said, ‘It is located 120 km north-east of Puducherry and 110 km south-east of Chennai. By Saturday evening it is likely to move westwards between Mahabalipuram and Karaikal off North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coast with wind speed reaching 70-80 kmph.
