In a hospital in Madhya Pradesh, the doctor beat the elderly person, dragged; FIR registered

A 70 -year -old man was brutally beaten by a doctor last Thursday at Chhatarpur District Hospital in Madhya Pradesh. An FIR has been registered against the doctor and a show cause notice has been issued to the concerned senior health officer. The situation worsened when the elderly person was dragged into the hospital premises and allegedly threatened to be closed in the hospital police post.

The video going viral on social media has revealed that the incident on April 17 was recorded on a passer -by mobile phone. Udhav Singh Joshi brought his ailing wife to treat stomach nerves. He said that he was waiting in line like many other people, when a doctor suddenly clashed with him.

According to Joshi, Dr. Rajesh Mishra, troubled by the crowd, asked him why he was standing in the queue. When he tried to explain, Dr. Mishra allegedly slapped him. Then, the doctor and a senior health officer dragged him to the police post inside the hospital premises.

Joshi told reporters, “The doctor kicked me and dragged me into the outpost. They slapped me and broke my glasses. He also tore my slip and threatened to kill me. My wife was also assaulted.” He said that he stood in the queue.

The hospital’s civil surgeon Dr. GL Ahirwar said that since the queue was long, Dr. Mishra objected to the breaking of Joshi’s queue, which worsened the matter. Facing the outrage of the people and the undisputed evidence of the incident, the doctor ran away from the spot. Hospital officials also had to take action due to resentment.

The Health Department issued a notice to Mishra and sought a reply within 24 hours. An official said that ‘Zero FIR’ was lodged against him at Naugaon police station – which was later transferred to Kotwali police station in Chhatarpur – under Section 115 (2), 296, 3 (5), 351 (3) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).

Dr. Ahirwar admitted that the incident took place in the hospital two days ago. Dr. Ahirwar told NDTV, “Initially, the doctor claimed that the patient treated indecent. However, the doctor’s unacceptable and shameful behavior is clearly visible in the video. We immediately ordered a departmental inquiry. A notice has been issued, and members of the inquiry committee are coming.” He assured that we have received instructions from the administration. Strict action will be taken.

However, Collector Partha Jaiswal has issued a show cause notice to Dr. Ahirwar to ignore his instructions, including submitting a report about the incident. “Dr. Ahirwar has been instructed to respond within 24 hours. The Collector constituted a three -member inquiry committee under the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), which has submitted his report. Based on this report, Jaiswal has recommended action against the doctor to the health department officials.”

He said, “After the recommendation of the Collector, National Health Mission Director Saloni Sidana gave notice to the contracted doctor Dr. Rajesh Mishra of orthopedics. He will have to reply in 24 hours. Collector Jaiswal has also recommended the dismissal of Rajendra Khare, an employee of the State Red Cross Society in connection with the incident.”
