Police have arrested the accused Mohammad Naseem.
Bengaluru: There was a stir after the decomposed body of a woman was found in a drain on the outskirts of Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. Officials said on Friday that a few days after the incident, the police arrested the woman’s husband from Bihar on charges of murder. He told that 39 year old accused Mohammad Naseem, who works as a painter by profession, has been arrested from Muzaffarpur. Police said that the incident took place on November 11 under Sarjapur police station area.
‘There used to be fights over small things’
According to the police, Naseem and his 22-year-old second wife Rumesh Khatoon often used to fight with each other over small matters. Naseem and Roomesh had a strained relationship as he was suspicious of his wife. Police said that due to such things, Naseem decided to get rid of his wife. A senior officer said that after strangulating Rumesh, Naseem tied his hands and legs with wire and threw his body in the drain. He told that after killing his wife, he fled with his six children to his native Muzaffarpur in Bihar.
‘Had fled to Bihar with 6 children’
According to the police, this incident came to light after a week when the local people informed the police about the foul smell coming from the drain. Later, the police found the decomposed body of the woman, after which it was taken for postmortem. The officer said that during the investigation, after the body was identified, it came to light that the husband of the deceased woman was missing and had run away with his six children. Naseem had 4 children from his first marriage and 2 children from his second marriage with Rumesh Khatoon.
Police caught the accused like this
Using technical evidence and mobile phone ‘location’, investigators traced the accused to Muzaffarpur, police said. Surprisingly, just a few days after reaching Muzaffarpur and before being caught by the police, the accused had married for the third time. Police said, ‘A case has been registered against the accused and he was arrested from Muzaffarpur last week in connection with the murder.’
